The closure is the original and very substantial. I gave this a gold and black beaded handle and made it strap ready so that you may attach a strap that you already own. I also gave it gold feet and a gold tassel. So classy and gorgeous! ( The lock looks slightly red in the picture but it is just a reflection. It is definitely gold. )
