1470 Oyster Cigar Box Purse Series 4 Life is Too Short Not to Have Oysters and Champagne

This is the last of my Oyster cigar box purses- for now anyway! I have been infatuated with oysters the past few years- bringing them home from restaurants and gilding them. So, I have put them on my cigar box creations hoping you would love them too! This oyster image has three lovely little oysters, all with pearls in their cups and done in pale pinks and blues. I have torn and aged the edges and added 4 1/2 large “pearls” in the corners to frame the image. The cigar box itself is a Finck Commerce- brown and wooden. I painted the back black and gave it a protective coating. The cigar box purse has been flipped so that the opening is now on the top and has been given a secure and oh so cute three ball closure for security.  Eight gold purse feet have been added to the back and bottom of the cigar box bag for protection. Gold hardware has been attached to the sides so that you may add a strap that you already own. This makes these little cigar box purses of mine versatile in that they can be worn by the handle, over the shoulder or cross- body. I sell straps and gold and silver cross body chains too. The chain in the last photo is available, but not included. The handle is made up of lovely blue, pink and gold beads and a pink leather tassel! The interior has been lined in padded black velvet and black lace trim. The Finck logo is found on the inner lid. 8 x 8.75 x 2.25″. THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC CIGAR BOX PURSE, SO SMALL FLAWS INFLICTED BY THE SMOKERS OF THE CIGARS ARE TO BE EXPECTED! They only add character and charm! Large flaws will be noted in the description. If you don’t like what you see, I can do custom cigar box purses and can include anything you like!- pictures of family members, pets, places- you name it! I always ship insured. History:

Interview with Bill Finck Sr.

Interview by Mary Locke Croft, January 30, 1991, in San Antonio, Texas

Bill Finck Sr.’s great-grandfather Reinhold Finck came to San Antonio in 1852 from Württemberg, Germany, via New Orleans. In 1861 he began publishing the San Antonio News in both English and German. Mr. Finck’s grandfather Henry began the Finck Cigar factory in the 1880s. Bill Finck explains the history of the cigar factory and the process of making cigars, from purchasing the tobacco in Connecticut, Cuba, and South America, to the making of hand-rolled cigars by Rafaela Sanchez, an eighty-year-old woman employed by the company for over seventy years. Mr. Finck also tells of his days in the state legislature and the burning of his $2,700 state paycheck, which made headline news.

– Bill Finck Sr. at the Texas Legislature in 1973
