1939 Mermaid Business Cigar Box Purse
These lovely mermaids have obviously found a way to lure these sailors into the rocks, capsize their ship and confiscate treasure. What fun! Don’t we all want to be mermaids? This darling image has been decoupaged onto a wooden, Drew Estates, Legends cigar box that looks like a little shipping crate along with eight teal blue crystals. The handle is made up of all gold wooden beads and a light blue vegan leather tassel. The inside is small, but deep and can fit a cell phone, cash, credit card, keys and lipstick. I lined it with padded and plush royal blue velvet and green ball trim. The back of the upcycled purse has been left authentically as is and the original Legends label remains on the inner lid. The cigar box has been flipped so that the opening is now on the side and has been given an antique gold lock for security. Eight gold purse feet have been added to the back and bottom for protection. Gold hardware has been attached to the sides so that you may add a strap that you already own. This makes these little cigar box purses of mine versatile in that they can be worn by the handle, over the shoulder or cross- body. I sell straps and gold and silver cross body chains too. The chain in the last photo is available, but not included. 5.5 x 7.5 x 4″ THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC CIGAR BOX PURSE, SO SMALL FLAWS INFLICTED BY THE SMOKERS OF THE CIGARS ARE TO BE EXPECTED! These add to the character and charm.
