1499 White Ostrich and Golden Bee Cigar Box Purse
Not for the shy, compliments guaranteed. Oh these are so popular! I wish I could find these white cigar boxes all the time but it’s just not possible! When I’m busy doing shows, these never make it to my website. At this moment I have two- this one and a smaller one (see pics).I took a Romeo y Julieta, Short Magnum, San Andres, black and white, wooden cigar box and decoupaged the front with a white ostrich image. A darling golden bee finding has been placed right in the center- so pretty! The front of the upcycled cigar box purse has been given gold corner protectors and these have been adorned with 1/2 pearls. The back of the cigar box purse has the original black velvet with gold lettering “San Latano”. The cigar box has been flipped so that the opening is now on the top and has been given a gold three ball lock for security.Gold purse feet have been added to the back and bottom for protection. Gold hardware has been attached to the sides so that you may add a strap that you already own. This makes these little cigar box purses of mine versatile in that they can be worn by the handle, over the shoulder or cross- body. I sell straps and gold and silver cross body chains too. The chain in the last photo is available, but not included. The interior has been lined in padded leopard fabric and has the original Romeo y Julieta label on the inner lid. The handle is made up of gorgeous white, gold and silver and pearl beads and a white vegan leather tassel. 675 x 10.25x 2.5″ THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC CIGAR BOX PURSE, SO SMALL FLAWS INFLICTED BY THE SMOKERS OF THE CIGARS ARE TO BE EXPECTED! Large flaws will be noted in the description.** Please note, this box has a small tear on the inner label in the upper right corner where the Surgeon General’s warning was removed. If you don’t like what you see, I can do custom cigar box purses and can include anything you like!- pictures of family members, pets, places- you name it! I always ship insured. History: Shakespeare’s most famous theatrical work, Romeo & Juliet, has captured imaginations and served as global inspiration for over 500 years. Inocensio Alvarez and Manin Garcia used this inspiration to establish Romeo y Julieta in 1875 in Cuba. After a number of years producing highly respected, top quality cigars, Alvarez and Garcia’s dedication to the brand paid off. Romeo y Julieta earned numerous gold medals at tasting exhibitions between 1885 and 1890; propelling the brand to increased notoriety around Cuba and the rest of the world. The future of Romeo y Julieta would now be in new hands after Jose “Pepin” Rodriguez Fernandez and his firm, Rodriguez, Argüelles y Cia acquired the brand in 1903. As a consummate cosmopolitan and salesman, Pepin constantly promoted the brand across Europe and America – his active marketing efforts included entering his horse (aptly named Julieta) into racing events across the world. Romeo y Julieta cigars quickly became exchangeable around the world as the best of the best, coveted by famous and wealthy customers. Shortly after Pepin’s death in 1954, the Cuban Revolution in hand with the nationalization of the cigar industry, brought new challenges for the brand. Romeo y Julieta was eventually re-established outside of Cuba in 1976 and produced at the Tabacalera De Garcia in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Tabacalera de Garcia continues to produce the brand for U.S. consumers today. Romeo y Julieta cigars have enjoyed over 140 years of recognition and continue to be coveted by cigar aficionados. No Romeo y Julieta customer was more renowned than Winston Churchill himself. An avid Romeo y Julieta customer, a vitola, was named in his honor (the eponymous Churchill, a 7” x 47 ring gauge cigar) and remains a flagship of the brand to this day. In addition to the Churchill, Romeo y Julieta was also known for specializing in figurados, such as perfectos and pirámides, during Pepin’s leadership. The new ROMEO by Romeo y Julieta line launched in 2012, bringing a modern twist to the heritage brand. Rated 94 by Cigar Aficionado in 2012, No. 3 Cigar of the year. The Romeo brand continues to grow in a prosperous direction.
