1952 Passmenterie / Tassel Cigar Box Purse
Passmenterie is a French noun for the making of decorative trimming such as tassels, braid, and fringing, used on furniture and clothing (e.g. military uniforms). As you know, I love to use tassels on my adorable Humadorable cigar box handbags! This beautiful image of tassels has been taken from a very high end French designer scarf and has been lovingly decoupaged front and back onto a black, wooden Gurkha, Hedonism, Grand Rothchild cigar box. These cigar boxes are exquisite and hard to find, so I don’t mind paying a bit more for them when I can find them. I added three rows of gold bling to the sides on the front. The handle has been done in all gold beads and a substantial gold tassel. I lined the inside with padded and plush honey gold velvet and black rose trim- so pretty! I flipped the cigar box so that the opening is now on the top and it has been given a gold three ball lock for security. Eight gold purse feet have been added to the back and bottom and eight gold corner protectors to the front and back for protection. Gold hardware has been attached to the sides so that you may add a strap that you already own. This makes these little cigar box purses of mine versatile in that they can be worn by the handle, over the shoulder or cross- body. I sell straps and gold and silver cross body chains too. The chain in the last photo is available, but not included. 7.5 x 9.75 x 2.75″ I promise compliments! THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC CIGAR BOX PURSE, SO SMALL FLAWS INFLICTED BY THE SMOKERS OF THE CIGARS ARE TO BE EXPECTED! They only add character and charm! Large flaws will be noted in the description.
