1802 Grey Brides de Gala Equestrian Cigar Box Purse
This gorgeous version of an Hermes, Brides de Gala equestrian silk scarf, done in greys and gold, has been lovingly decoupaged onto an upcycled grey Cohiba cigar box to make the most exquisite handbag! Created by Hugo Grygkar in 1957, two ceremonial bridles from the second half of the 19th century face one another. The scarf depicts the delicate chiseled decorations, coats of arms, foliage and mermaids, as well as the work of leather. I added a golden finding of three horse heads to the center to add to the fabulousness! The grey Cohiba cigar box has an black and gold label that has been left and decoupaged over. I used all gold beads to create the handle along with a fancy, fat gold tassel. The inside has been lovingly lined with padded and plush black velvet and black lace trim. The original Cohiba logo remains authentically as is on the inner lid. I painted the back black and sealed it. The purse has been flipped so that the opening is now on the top and has been given a gold three ball lock for security. Eight gold purse feet have been added to the back and bottom and eight gold corner protectors to the back and front corners for protection. Gold hardware has been attached to the sides so that you may add a strap that you already own. This makes these little cigar box purses of mine versatile in that they can be worn by the handle, over the shoulder or cross- body. I sell straps and gold and silver cross body chains too.
